Why (not), Modi?

Modi Modi everywhere, but is he really worth the silverware? This is the overwhelming sentiment across the nation, as the biggest election show of the earth keeps the entire world enchanted with its magnanimity. There is no doubt about the fact that the key theme of this general election in India is certainly Modi, not only for BJP, but even for Congress, AAP, SP, BSP and all other political parties. Where on one hand BJP is busy in propagating how good Modi is, all others are running helter-skelter to prove that he is nothing more than a marketing phenomenon and his real identity lies in communal un-events like 2002 Gujrat riots.
And as the election season reaches its crescendo every Indian has turned into a political analyst, with very strong and self-proclaimed righteous view point. For some Modi led BJP is the only way forward for the nation, mainly due to Modi’s strong and authoritative personality driven primarily by a commendable development track record in Gujrat. But practically this view point is an epitome of optimism, as neither Modi nor BJP has any Potter-esque magic wand that can solve or undo India’s long ailing problems. Also, a hypothesis of transforming India into a Gujrat style development model won’t be the most prudent solution for two reasons – 1. By nature every state in India has a unique landscape, so a one size fits all philosophy will certainly not work. 2. Marketing gimmicks aside, the so called universally famed Gujrat development model is by no means a fool proof model, it has as many downsides as its perceived pros.
So does this mean that the Modi bubble is pretty similar to BJP’s India Shinning bubble of 2004? Does this also means that all the detractors of Modi are correct in propagating against a Modi led government coming to power? May be yes, may be no. Hence, the bigger question in this scenario is that what are the alternative options we have in hand that can go ahead and form a stable and promising government at the centre. Modi’s detractors propagate against him on communalism fears, dictatorial apprehensions and divisive politics but doesn’t these issues hold true with the incumbent or for that matter any political party that claims stake for the top spot. There are enough facts floating around that prove this true for all the leading political parties in India.
With such a background, if not for Modi led BJP, shall we opt for Congress again, the only other political party of the national stature and standing? But after all kind of lows that we have seen in the last decade in terms of inflation, poverty, unemployment, scams etc. this by no means seem to be a logical option, unless people want to repeat their mistakes and invite guaranteed misery for five more years. So can it be AAP, the new found sensationalism specialists but I believe a majority will agree that a PM sitting on Dharna in front of the India Gate won’t be a scene they would like to endorse, leave apart expecting development and other rather ambitious virtues from them. Or can a pot-pouri of all the smaller regional parties offer a solution to India’s long list of problems? Which I believe won’t be any less than a tamasha of epic proportions’, keeping in mind the mercurial stature Maya, Jaya, Mamta et al. Or shall we go for the latest entrant in the house, NOTA, which seem to be the most relevant alternative keeping in mind the not so viable options we have in hand. Irony is that NOTA can be an option but it can’t be a solution, it can be a strong means to show our angst against the BJPs, Congress and AAPs of the nation but it can’t give us a strong PM for next 5 years.
So it brings us back to the moot question that when have been electing and re-electing same set of lackadaisical leaders for last 60 years, why can’t we give one chance to someone who at least looks strong, decisive and committed in his approach, appeal and assurances to the common man. In the worst case scenario he will also fail to meet our expectations as the leaders in the past have been doing as well but at least we will have that satisfaction that we have not repeated our mistakes and have given a shot to all possible avenues in hand. After all this country is not an registered asset of any single political party or family.
Cynicism apart it’s really the time to think Why, not Modi?

Some might profess to vote for a good candidate irrespective of his/her party, which seems very intelligent too but the problem in our country is that any non-BJP vote is effectively a vote for the Congress. AAP’s Delhi pun intended.

  2. If it was u r sister burned or raped in Delhi and it was hapless Arvind fighting to get them justice by sitting on a dharma because sold out police would do nothing for you, you would realize the importance of what he did and why he did it. And to top it all, but for the fake candidates fielded by BJP and voter list manipulations, Arvind's would he formed a government with absolute majority on his own.

Regarding forming got in delhi, mind you, it was Congress that forced his hands by former sending a letter of unconditional support to LG. Arvind then sent them 18 point agenda to which they agreed to support. Ombudsman bill was no 1 in agenda to which Congress agreed to support.when time came to present the bill in assembly Ali baba me chalks chords ganged up an don't refused to even table the bill in assebly. Mind u they could he had a discussion and voted against the bill but no, that was too much to accept to these chors. And if they r this confident that Delhi has rejected AAP, they r welcome to get fresh elections conducted but no, they don't want that either. Come may 16, wait and watch Congress mas breaking up their own party and joining BJP to firm BJP got in Delhi assembly.

You don't get hired for even a clerks job in India without an interview and this dude wants to become a AM of country without answering questions on basis of a fake gujarat development model which suddenly came into existence in past 2 years. The guy who has spent estimated 4000 chores just on media campaign is all doing it for charity. It would be u and me paying for this IF and when he becomes the PM.

He keeps talking of Congress must bharat but out of 396 candidates BJP has fielded, 116 are ex congressmen. Seriously? That's what we mean by change?

I believe you agree BCCI is a crooked organization which is well represented by both Congress and BJP. Do u recall ever this dude saying a word against srinivasen or ill betting scandal? No. Mind you he is president of GCA and is a partner in BCCI crimes.

Leave alone 2002 riots, he had his own home minister knocked off because he won't toe his line and you expect this goon to do any good for this country. I would not even bring it up had he ordered proper probe in the incident and found/punished real culprits.

His wave exists in media. All the crowds u see in his stupid rallies are people he or his organizations bring in by paying them off. There r enough videos of statements made by BJP folks or sting conducted in Delhi that will give u the facts if u care to read.

Like it or not, modi is a disaster waiting to happen in India and I sure hope he doesn't win enough seats to become the PM.

Have been thoroughly disappointed that we'll meaning folks like u refuse to see through his game plan and have become one of modi bhakts. Time will tell, May 16th is not far.

    1. Thanks for reading my post Sir/Madam. I dont know if it was intentional or by mistake but I dont think being anonymous was needed:)
Although it quite apparaent from your rather inflammatory sub-blog that you dont respect my point of view...but I honestly respect yours and thank you for bringing out a new aspect to this discussion. Afterall everybody is entitled to their own opinion, however for my point of view on AAP you can read out my blog on AAP as well...but please dont post your comment as anonymous pls...:)

    2. No worries Kinshuk. I prefer to stay anonymous for some obvious reason. hope one fine day i'll tell u the reasons.

regardless, i know your views about AAP as well. you were pissed that arvind resigned. however i havent seen you post and alternative for what you expected him to do when alibaba ke chalis chor had ganged up on him. what was the point of continuing that government when u cant even get to do what you set out to do. His ACB had 2 sub inspectors against the approved force of 40 full time staff. The officers he wanted in ACB were not released by shinde. he would have achieved shit if he had proceeded with investigations against sheila with this compromised ACB.

The second tool he had was ombudsman bill. if you think that Cong/BJP will ever allow a strong ombudsman to dig their own graves, you are living in fools paradise. our dear modiji didnt allow lokayukta to function in gujarat. though i personally give him benefit of doubt as he was facing hostile centre and government but still the one he passed is such a big sham. Arvind was in similar situation in delhi facing hostile centre and governor.

if we really think modi is going to bring a change by aligning with srimulu, paswan, thackreys, god really help us. Remember manu sharma, his dad is contesting elections in haryana with tacit support from BJP. Modi would have won this elections hands down IF he would have shunned criminals across the board. but thats too much to ask of him because he only understand the language of religion based politics. Supree court orders tadipar for his home ministor, dude goes to UP and we have riots in Muzaaffar nagar. Its not just a coincidence but planned murders. these guys did the same when they got babri down. listen into ashok singhals clip where he said unless some people, mind u, some hindu people, die, the ayodhya movement will not gain ground.

all i ask is open your eyes, read aound, just dont trust what newspapers and TV is dishing out to you.

anyway, modi no modi, AAP is here to stay with only goal for now that whoever forms next government, will not be allowed to carry on the blatant loot of countries resources.

      good luck!

    3. Dear Sir/Madam,
I donno what is the apprehension is revealing your identity...are you ashamed of being a blatant AAP supporter or you don't have the strength to let the world know that you are an AAP supporter.
Answer to your ques on what Farjiwal shud have done...at the 1st place he shudnt have shown the greed n haste to form the gov...he shud have gone slow...stayed in the opposition for 5 years rather thn going against the very basis of formation of his party which was to stay away from either of Congress n BJP...but Kursi is too strong an attraction to stick to ones principles:) If he wud have stuck to being in the opposition n fighting against BJP n Congress he wud have gone a very long distance...n then those tamashas of leaving the state in just 49 days to fulfil his even bigger desire to become a force in the national politics...epithets can be written on his greed n two faced ways...but I feel its a waste of time to talk about him in the national context. His intentions were very good...but only till the point he was away from the power.

Coming back to BJP, I never said BJP is THE solution to the country's long list of problems...they are as bad as Congress or any other party...but then why should only 1 party continue to eat up country's resources....In any case...what is solution you have in hand in present day context - 1. Vote for Congress again? 2. Vote for AAP...hoping Farji will be the next PM...3. NOTA? what is the solution you have in hand Sir/Madam? Giving gyaan...criticizing every tom dick and harry sitting on one lounger is the easiest task but to actually talk about the real solution takes some guts.
Anyways...firstly you should garner some strength to reveal your identity...leave apart talking about the national politics and other things...On a personal note its not such a shameful thing to be an AAP supporter:)

    4. being anonymous is a good thing... Its not just for being AAP supporter (member actually), its just in normal walk of life. prefer not to leave any online identity anywhere. i guess its beyond this discussion.

First of all, his name is Arvind. If after all that education, all you could do is not even call him by his name, not sure what to tell you. you are just insulting your own up bringing. you are better than modi bhakts i come across.. i say it because i know you.

again regarding delhi. Arvind didn't take anyone's support. He was out there to implement his own agenda. AAP never begged congress or BJP to offer support. We were ready to head to LG's office when he invited to tell him we are not forming government but for the letter of unconditional support congress sent in to LG. They think they were the ones pulling fast one on AAP, Arvind gave them a befitting reply by forming the government. now congress was left to a state where they couldnt even hide their face anywhere. whatever happened, what is stopping BJP to ask for re elections in delhi? it would have already happened if they had asked for? its just the fear that they will lose good chunk of seats of whatever they got last time as well.

It has been absolutely clear from Delhi experience. The ones who had their ill gotten money at stake are the one's continue to oppose AAP. Media played a role to sway some as well. Unfortunately some in my family are in that camp as well and i clearly know why. regardless. Next assembly elections, AAP will be back with full force.

Regarding current scenario and who to select, select a candidate who can serve one's constituency. its not a presidential form of government that we have to chose between two three guys. two actually, third is as good as gone. once you have a good number of well meaning people in parliament, the blatant loot will come down to a large extent. corrupts aint going away anywhere, but once they see there is real punishment awaiting them, they will start thinking of consequences as well. its not going to be overnight change, will take its own time but sitting idle and keep voting the goons in, is not a solution as well.

current approach of selecting one thief over other is taking us no where where is is clear that they keep scratching each other's back.

AAP is a startup. they have continued to make/rectify mistakes but important is they continue to grow. Those who are sick and tired of congress/bjp, netaji, amma, didi, behenji and what not will continue to join this startup. Those who prefer the status quo will continue to be with existing political establishment. its a matter of time their support base will outnumber establishment. only fear is this establishment will not let AAP win this easily. i have personally experienced their crooked methods to suppress people's voice in delhi and gurgaon so all I know is we are in it for a long haul.

      Best!

    5. Dear Sir/Madam,
Unfortunately, you are making it dirty now...so it would like to stop it from my end here...I would have loved it to stay healthy...but it hasn't...any which way thanks for reading my blog...I really mean it:)
In case you feel fine to reveal your identity we can strike a very good discussion(not argument) on this offline between 2 of us...i really hope you do so:)
And please keep reading my blogs and keep on sharing your sincere views....And trust me Modi or no Modi...it hardly makes any difference to me...I dn have any vested interested with his coronation...all this while I was trying to say that we have seen enough of Congress and AAP is still at a very nascent stage to think of national stage...otherwise all r 1 n d same!
